I have been fortunate enough to visit many battlefields and all have been memorable, but our day on the D Day to VE Day tour was outstanding. To travel the route taken by the 13th/18th Royal Hussars was a great experience, but it was made all the more special by doing so in jeeps from the time, and Robert was an excellent guide. His knowledge of the events that took place is remarkable and he brought the events of more than 80 years ago to life with energy and passion. Moreover, the planning and administration of the trip was faultless, such that we could enjoy the trip without fuss. The added feature that made the trip very poignant were the short and moving remembrance ceremonies in each of the cemeteries where we paid respects to those members of the 13th/18th Hussars and 15th/19th Hussars who did not return. I commend the tour without reservation, and encourage you to sign up; you will not want to miss it. And it is all in aid of an important cause - the Light Dragoons Charitable Trust.

Robert has assembled a fabulous team of dedicated ex-military personnel and highly experienced enthusiasts to deliver this incredible experience. Each has a particular skill set - like the A Team (but slightly older and more convincing) - to bring to the adventure. They have gelled as a tight knit team and their success is entirely due to their positive approach to looking after you and ensuring that you are immediately fully integrated in the group and activity.
You will have a brilliant day from start to finish, from Robert's insightful morning briefs to set the historical context, riding shotgun in your very own Jeep with your skilled and entertaining driver to the very moving acts of Remembrance at the final resting places of the Regiments' finest. Throughout, the excellent G4 back up crew prepare for your next step of the journey, including bonnet top lunch and, if the worst happens and an 80 year old Jeep struggles, know that the team are carrying sufficient spares to rebuild a Jeep from scratch. And the team have the knowledge and skills to do it on the side of the road too! That's the joy of these incredible machines.
So what are you waiting for? Be part of this exceptional opportunity and sign up to Phase Two now. You will kick yourself if you miss it!

I look back on what was without doubt a rather special day. The day, Day 11 Leopoldsburg to Arnhem. A day that was to be much than I had envisaged. I had signed up initially as much to the idea of seeing people I had not seen in decades, being in a part of Europe where one of my sons lives and the thought of spending a day in the fresh air dumping along in a 80 year old jeep.
What I came away with was all that, spending time with a team of wonderful people, organised perfectly, historically narrated knowledgably and skilfully by Robert. But also something much more, I felt the history, the gravity and poignancy of the remembrance services held for the Regiment's fallen along the path they had ridden.
I would encourage anyone who can to take part in this unique event to do so, I have taken from it another set of life memories and also in a small way, through the charity, helped our people.
